Konstantanya jumlah larutan HCl pada system ini membuat electrode Ag/AgCl memiliki nilai potensial stabil. Inti sensor pH terdapat pada permukaan bulb kaca yang memilki kemampuan untuk bertukar ion positif (H+) dengan larutan terukur.
